endowment grant awarded

Congratulations to Swiss Belles of Midway/Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah, the recipients of the AGEHR Endowment grant.

The money from the AGEHR Endowment grant will go toward purchasing equipment and music for the establishment of a handbell choir for the Wasatch County School District.  Initially choirs will include students from Wasatch High School and Wasatch Mountain Junior High School (grades 8-12).  Once established at that level, they hope to extend to for a community children’s choir as well.

Goals of the project:
Enhance the musical growth of students in a rural community
More adequately meet the K-12 National Standards for Music Education
Augment Students’ musical understanding
Enhance community events
Increase students’ sense of ensemble, cooperation and teamwork.
